The idea of getting to spend time with a couple during something such as an mountainous elopement is everything. Eloping is such an intimate time for two people. They aren’t eloping because they want to be the center of attention, simply because it feels right to them. In my opinion NOTHING is wrong with that!
This sweet intimate mountainous elopement took place at the beautiful The Indigo house off of route 151 in Afton Virginia. Truly this Bed and breakfast is in such a prime location! The bed and breakfast is run by the sweetest couple Stephanie and Kyle. They’re TRULY remarkable humans and do whatever they can to be sure your special day is just that..SPECIAL! I could not recommend having your intimate wedding and or elopement on this property enough.
The morning was an easy relaxing one for both Casey and Major. It started with a drinks looking out on the Blue Ridge Mountains, which if you are familiar with the area, you can see Shenandoah National Park. After, the couple wanted to take their time to really explore the BNB. They found a really cool reading room, filled with books, a record player and so much more. The vibes were insane! Next, it was time for to find different rooms to write their vows to each other!
You might think i’m a little crazy for this but I personally love that neither one of them had written their vows, they wanted to wait and really take note of the day, the moment and EVERYTHING in between.
It was time for the big moment and sadly we were up against a impending thunder storm so there was no time better than 3pm to get the show on the road. While C doing her finishing touches to her make up M was having some time to himself and wait outside for C to come down. In all honesty one of my favorite moment happened during this period of time. Casey was making her way down the steps and Major was outside and I was able to grab a shot of Casey looking at him through the window. Freaking MAGIC!
When couples choose to do a first look I’m always here for it. It took me sometime as a photographer to get to to this point because for a while I thought the first looks should always be with the the parents. As time as gone of my mindset has shifted and now I LIVE FOR THE MOMENT! Major couldn’t believe his eyes when he turned around, she took his breath away and it was beautiful to witness.
All in all this afternoon mountainous elopement was perfect, so simple, and intimate. I was perfect for both C+M they couldn’t of imagined it any other way. This may not of been on top of a mountain but a small mount nestled down below the mountains was just what they needed.
Lucky enough for us the rain held off. The storm went in a totally different direction then what we were expect, so everything feel perfectly into place for us. With that being said, I had the wise thought that we might be getting a stunning sunset and and low and behold I was RIGHT.
The sky LIGHT UP! Such a amazing way to end the day!
This was an elopement for the books!
Below you will find some of my favorite moments from this beautiful mountainous elopement! Enjoy!
