Being spontaneous, is something I love and look for in people I surround myself with. The freedom to be able to think of an idea and then just completely roll with it. I’d be lying if I said all of my spontaneous moments in life have worked out seamlessly because we all know that is not true. However, this shoot in particular came together better than I ever could of imagined.
I was staring at my coffee table randomly thinking to myself “man, this really needs some fresh flowers to spruce it up.” Boom, LIGHT BULB ON! So I reached out to a friend to see if she was interested in joining me! First for flowers, of course, then I suggested turning it into an adventure portrait session opportunity. She was in! We hoped in the car and headed straight down 81 to a little locally owned flower farm, called Lost Bottoms. Adventure portrait sessions are some of my favorites, I think you are given the unique opportunity to really show the persons personality through the images. I really love it!
How could you not enjoy running amongst some of the tallest most breathtaking sunflowers. Personally I think anyone and everyone should consider the opportunity, it’s so freeing.
Lost Bottoms was stunning, something out of a dream. Lost Bottoms is a flower field that is hidden below the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I will say this, I absolutely love going to off the grid locations for shoots, it adds to the experience. Of course, not every location is off the grid so to speak, just places that aren’t super well known to the area. Adds a special touch to the session, in my opinion. Being an adventure photographer can take you pretty much anywhere; mountains, flower fields, or the beach and the list could go on!
Truly can’t go wrong with doing an adventure portrait session in the middle of a flower farm! I would love to photograph you or even you and your loved one running around a flower farm! Contact me here!
Check out some of my fav shots and do yourself a favor go explore all the flower farms or fields you can! You won’t regret it!
