Sunday Morning on the Oregon Coast | Larissa + Nick

When I was out on the Oregon Coast in early April it was an absolute dream. This is a location I have been only dreaming about since the day I decided to pick up a camera. A little backstory, over a year ago I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful retreat that made me fall in love with the Oregon Coast more than I ever thought I would. I told myself a year from last June that I would have a paid opportunity out there. And…

Well does manifesting actually work?! I’m here to say YES. I sure did manifest this journey back to the Oregon Coast.

I was originally out along the coast for a couples session, turn double surprise proposal but something in me was determined to find another couple to work with before I hoped on a red eye back to the East Coast. When I say “determined” I mean it. I did model calls, and no hits. Then someone reached out to me about finding model couples. The idea never crossed me mind. Randomly early Saturday morning a model couple started following me on the good ol’ insta. I realized they were from Portland so I threw what felt like the biggest hail mary of my life. IT WORKED!

Larissa and Nick were up for modeling for me and it was amazing, really everything I could of hoped for and so much more. They were the sweetest couple. Now with my style “cinematic storytelling” I normally put in a lot to get to know the couples I work with. However, this was not the case and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous.

These two hit it out of the park, they really took my prompt/directing so well. I feel like I was able to capture them in a very authentic way to who they are as a couple. The goal!

The Location

Cannon Beach is an iconic area for a photoshoot, Haystack Rock being even more iconic. Its a massive dream to be on Cannon beach as a photographer or even having Haystack rock in the background. For this particular session I wanted not just Cannon beach but somewhere a little less populated and the dunes was high on my list.

The area we shoot at was a lesser know beach close to Ecola State Park. This area was everything I hoped for and so much more!
