Nestled below the Blue Ridge Mountains, a short distance from Shenandoah National Park sites one of the most perfect spots for a simple little elopement, for those who want to keep it simple, elegant, and beautiful. A little known place called the Indigo House.
Now if you’re reading this thinking the name sounds fimiliar, you are totally RIGHT! I This is was my second time working at the Indigo House and yet again it did not dissapoint! This bnb has so much magic and truly the perfect spot for those looking to have a little adventurous getaway but maybe want to sleep in the bed for the night instead of a tent on a uncomfortable mat! This spot is the spot for you!
Let us not forget about the perfect location for a elopement or small micro wedding! They offer two amazing spots to say your vows and I really have grown a liking to the forest location. It gives all PNW and dare I say Twilight vibes as well. Which I must say if not in in the Pacific North West, the beautiful forest at Indigo will work.
The intimacy that this venue has to offer is amazing.
Both Eric and Val wanted the day to be a representation of them and their amazing relationship. The idea of planning a massive wedding was just not their idea of a good time in any sense of the word. Which is completely understandable. When we first spoke they were sharing a bit of their story with me and said they had been together going on 10 years and wanted to feel like their love was being celebrated in a small way instead of making a huge production out of it. So after going back and forth from eloping with just them to a micro wedding, they came to the conclusion that a micro wedding was the perfect fit.
To me it seems like int he wedding industry you hear more about elopements or a full blown wedding, this is just my opinion. It’s only been since 2020 that micro weddings have become a bit more popular. Personally I kind of love it. If you are the couple who just ins’t in the mood for a huge wedding day that brings a ton pressure and lets be honest has several different factors that pull away from what the day is truly about. or you don’t want to just say your vows with your partner. A micro wedding might be for you.
It’s a beautiful way to keep things small intimate with a few close people that mean the absolute most to you, while also giving you the ability to have some flexibility if you want it. It allows you more time to slow down and enjoy what is happening, take it all in. Sometimes during a big wedding if you aren’t aware enough to remind yourself to stop and take it all in the day simply flys by and could feel more like a dream.
Remember your wedding day is about you and your partner, do what you want to do!
